M0CKE's FT100 - DK3 - Mitsubishi Gallant Install (in 2000)

Well here they are, pictures of my FT100 and DK3 antenna built from scratch using plans from DK Johnson W6AAQ. Although the basic design is the same most parts are difficult to find in the uk, especially the finger stock, which came from the USA. Most other parts had to be machined up.

This is a old Motorola Mobile Phone Hands Free Mic. Readily available at our rally's and surplus equipment sales. It's an electret with a amplifier all built in to the roof mount unit.

The FT100 Head in the "Specs Tray"

Mitsubishi provided a nice spot for the FT100 head with enough room at the back to put the connections for mic and speaker.

This is mounted on the metal bulk head in the trunk, it's fed with 6awg cable, the original power lead had been cut as short as possible but leaving the connector on.
